Vehicle Description

1991 Eagle Premier ES - Very Rare - Utah Car - 47k Miles - All Original (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1991 Eagle Premier ES on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 155 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, and a link to the Eagle Premier's accident-and-damage-free, low-mileage Carfax history report, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) At the moment, there are not many cars from the early 1990s that trump the Eagle Premier in sheer rarity. – Autoweek magazine, October 2019 More on the Eagle Premier from Autoweek: Eagle was the brand hastily mashed together of old AMC, modern Renault, modern Chrysler and any captive import that Chrysler could get its hands on at the time (Mitsubishi really) through whatever means. For the sporty end of the range, this meant the Eagle Talon, the economy car of the range was the Eagle Summit sedan and hatch (yes, there was a sedan), while the small minivan of the range was ... yet another model called the Eagle Summit... the luxury sedan of the range was the Eagle Premier, and out of the whole lineup of Eagle cars, it was the most European and the most innovative. Described as: A luxurious midsize sedan styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Pininfarina, the Premier was a three-box sedan slightly larger than the Ford Taurus, boasting European proportions..... Unlike its Renault 25 siblings, the Premier was offered with AMC's finest: a 2.5-liter four-cylinder coupled with a four-speed automatic gearbox. Base model output was 111 hp and 142 lb-ft of torque -- quite a bit for a four-cylinder in those days. Offered here is a 1991 Eagle Premier ES four-door sedan with the larger 3-liter V6 engine. Black (with gray lower-body) over gray, this stately sedan shows 47,655 miles, or roughly just 1,588 miles per-year on average. Its overall condition is a product of low mileage, competent servicing, and owner care. The car's exterior black paint is in acceptable condition overall with the exception of fading on the hood, roof, and some body panels. A partial re-spray in the factory color is evident. Lower-body gray cladding trim and body panels show light damage and slight discoloration in places. Overall panel alignment and gaps are excellent reflecting the car's European design. Factory emblems are properly mounted. Bespoke factory wheel covers of a distinctly European design with large Eagle-logo centers are in place on the standard steel wheels. Cabin glass and lighting lenses are clear and free of cracks. Inside, indications of the European design are evident. The dashboard, steering wheel, instrument panel, and most of the switchgear were clearly designed on the continent. The gray crushed-velour fabric on the seating surfaces, however, is distinctly American in origin. Darker gray carpeting covers the cabin floors. Overall, the condition of the interior surfaces is clean and undamaged. The interior design itself has stood the test of time. The car's trunk is very clean and hosts the original spare tire. Under the hood, the factory-original, 3-liter V6 powerplant commands an orderly, clean, and complete engine bay. All components appear properly mounted; all hoses and wiring look to be routed properly as well. There are no indications of modifications. Viewed from below, the chassis is similarly complete. While the more than 155 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this Eagle Premier in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email
